The Lancaster County Department of Corrections handles inmates and incarceration-related matters in the county. Jail records are official documents created at the time an individual is arrested and booked into custody at the county jail. Note that the existence of an inmate record in a person's name only indicates they were arrested; it is not proof of guilt. An inmate search is the process used to retrieve these records.

Inmate searches generally return information such as the arrested person's full name, date of birth, booking date, mugshot, booking number, arrest charges, bond amount and type, and projected release date. Inmate searches can be performed online using the Lancaster County Department of Corrections' Current Inmate portal. Search criteria are an inmate's first and last name or arrest date.
